This is the official translation (found in Cuilidh’s accompanying booklet)
Hùg Air A’ Bhonaid Mhòir (aka Celebrate the Big Bonnet) is the second single taken from Julie Fowlis’s second album Cuilidh.
The song, which is actually made up of two, is a set of puirt a beul (mouth songs), fun compositions that consist of lines that don’t make sense or are illogical. They generally have a fast tempo.
In Hùg Air A’ Bhonaid Mhòir, the first section of the song repeats two verses about a bonnet. The next section repeats two verses about fish traps. The third section returns to the bonnet topic.
Album: Cuilidh (2007)
Performed by Julie Fowlis,  Eamon Doorley, Mark Kelly, Michael McGoldrick, Chris Thile and John McCusker
