Summary:

The Bíobío Canyon is the submarine manifestation of the Bíobío River near Concepcion, Chile.

We will characterize the deep environments, water, fauna, & sediments of Bíobío canyon through coring, animal collections, niskin water sampling and video transects. Evaluate habitat types and distribution in the axis and on the canyonwalls, use by commercial fish, debris (e.g., fishing gear).

Ideally compare to Concepcion slope and seep at similar depths. Watch out for evidence of seepage.
